Sue Ball from Birmingham has lost an impressive 2 stone and gone down 3 dress sizes since starting the Hairy Bikers diet almost 2 years ago. For Sue, the aim of the diet was both to lose weight and to help improve a spinal condition that was making walking and standing very uncomfortable. Thanks to the Hairy Bikers diet plan, as well as the support of a physiotherapist, Sue’s health is vastly improved.
Here’s how Sue did it:
“When I started the Hairy Bikers diet, I was struggling with walking and standing due to a spinal condition called Spondylolisthesis. During a flare up, even just three minutes stood up could cause me great discomfort.
My Consultant told me that I might eventually need some pins put into my spine, which was something I didn’t want to have to go through. I was advised that losing weight would help me to move more comfortably and might produce a better outcome for my back. I really didn’t want to have surgery.
That’s when I signed up to The Hairy Bikers diet club.
Initially, my focus was to shed some weight. Due to the spondylolisthesis, I struggled to do most exercises, so my aim was to follow the diet plan and become more mindful about my food intake.
I lost 2 stone, and worked closely with my physiotherapist to improve my movement.
Once I was more mobile, I began to follow the exercise plans on the Hairy Bikers Diet Club website, and now I commit to going to the gym 3 times a week.
For me, I wasn’t intending to lose a lot of weight very quickly. I’m happy with my steady progress, and am thrilled to have found out that I will be unlikely to need the pins placed in my spine anymore.
My husband is really happy with the meals I’ve been preparing. We enjoy the Spanish Chicken Bake and this diet plan has not only helped me lose weight but has taught me a thing or two about cooking as well!”
“Use the support from others to keep on track, but when doing so try not to compare yourself to other dieters. Everyone loses weight at different speeds and for different reasons, so try to focus on yourself and make a plan that suits your individual needs.”
