Getting in shape requires dedication and commitment. Once you’ve set some goals, it should be easy to exercise, right?

Well, that’s not always the case.

Obstacles creep up, and if you’re not careful, excuses can keep you from getting the physique you want. Check out these common reasons for skipping exercise or ditching your meal plan. Just in case you happen to use any of these as justifications for making choices that will hinder your goals, don’t worry, we’ve got some fixes

1) I can’t go very far

That doesn’t matter, it’s all about just getting started, so it’s far better to go slowly and gradually rather than by going crazy It’s about changing the habits of a lifetime.

2) I am too embarrased

Don’t be paranoid! People care far more about themselves than they do about you! And if they are laughing it’s probably because they are jealous that you are making a positive change to your life.

3) I would but I can’t afford a gym membership

You don’t need a gym, you just need a park or a street. But the most important thing you need is the positive mentality to embrace change and hard work!

4) I don’t have all the right gear

So what? Working out should not be a fashion show. Just throw on any old t-shirt and shorts and get out there. It’s tough but people regret the final pint, or piece of cake but they never truly regret getting a sweat on.

5) I’m starting the work out tomorrow

Don’t be a procrastinator, because you’ll waste your life away making excuses. Stop reading this article NOW and go off and get moving!

6) Exercise is boring

We hear you, sometimes being a slave to the treadmill can be dull. So why not join up with a pal? It’s always more fun with someone by your side to keep you entertained and distracted from the pain- plus when you have someone relying on you to work out with you’re far less likely to give up!

7) I don’t have the time

Worst excuse yet. This doesn’t take hours, there is always 30 minutes you can free up in your day. Chances are you get an hour for your lunch break, instead of spending it plonked in front of your desk get out and about!

8) I’m too tired

Feeling lethargic and lacking the energy and motivation to exercise? The best way to reinvigorate yourself is with some physical activity. It gets the endorphins and adrenaline pumping and we guarantee you’ll feel so much better after!
